About Us

Temple Baptist Christian School is a ministry of the Temple Baptist Church, with the sole purpose of implementing the Scriptural imperatives of Deuteronomy 6:5-7a:

" And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: and thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children..."

and of Proverbs 22:6 which commands us to train up a child in the way he SHOULD GO. Teaching is training. Training for life must of necessity include training for eternity.

Attendance at this school is a privilege and not a right. OUR GOAL is to train Christian youth for every ability in the higher principles of Christian leadership, self-discipline, individual responsibility and personal integrity and good citizenship.

Temple Baptist Christian School (TBCS) is open to all academically qualified students without regard to race, color, sex, or national origin. However, the administration does reserve the right to refuse anyone admittance who it feels is not in agreement with the spiritual principles held by Temple Baptist Church.

TBCS is not accredited or approved by the State of Tennessee nor do we seek such accreditation or approval.

TBCS is a member of the Tennessee Association of Christian Schools and the American Association of Christian Schools. The Tennessee Association of Christian Schools (TACS), by act of the 1976 Tennessee State Legislature, is a recognized private school association not subject to control by the Tennessee Department of Education nor any other state agency.

Our Purpose
The Christian School is an extension of the Christian home in training young people for time and eternity in a Christian environment. The school staff works closely with parents to train the whole child. Since man is composed of spirit, mind, and body, the education process must provide balanced development in each of these three areas. Anything less than this not only misses the mark, but results in great human loss, both in time and eternity.

Our Program
In our program we implement the best possible Christian curriculum available to us. We use the Abeka & Bob Jones University Press curriculum. this is a Christ centered, high standard curriculum. We also implement the National Stanford Achievement Tests each year. We have had students that have scored in the top 10% in our nation. This includes both public and private schools. As we feel that education is extremely important, especially with today's expectations of our young people, God is first and should be in everything we do.

Our Personnel
As stated in "Our Program" section, we believe that God should be first in everything. Therefore our teachers are born-again believers in Jesus Christ, and live separated as Christian men and women. As servants of God, our staff realizes that their teaching is a ministry and not just a job. Our staff believes that God has placed them in the ministry they are in, and trusts that God will use them to their fullest potential as His servants and teachers for our children.
